It's that time of year again. The weather is hot, the humidity's high and the country music fans are rolling into Nashville for the 2018 CMT Awards on June 6th. The extravaganza is bigger and better than ever. Downtown Nashville has grown, Tootsie's Orchid Lounge has a rooftop patio made just for drinkin' beer late into the night and the entire city is celebrating.
One change you'll definitely notice this year is the venue. Usually the CMT Awards show takes place at the Bridgestone Arena, but this year, the Predator's success forced the show to move to the Music City Center in Nashville, TN. It's going to be so awesome.
This year, the host for the show is Nashville's Charles Esten. Scheduled performers include Blake Shelton, Brett Eldredge, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, Florida Georgia Line and the Chainsmokers, Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum and Earth, Wind & Fire, Little Big Town and Kelsea Ballerini. Also, CMT will honor the memory of the late, great Gregg Allman with special tribute performances by Jason Aldean, Darius Rucker and Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley. The Allman Brothers Band has been credited with creating the "bedrock foundation of modern Southern music." Artists have been wanting to know if there was a way that they could honor Allman during the show. You can bet the Gregg will be looking down from Rock and Roll heaven and enjoying the tribute.
You can also bet your boots that VIP Concierge has tickets to the CMT Awards show. We've got them, but they won't last long. So, if you want to get on down to the event, we recommend that you bust a move and pick up a pair of tickets for your and your BFF. The show is always awesome, but this year it'll be even wilder with the new venue and the tribute to Gregg Allman. Hurry, now. If you miss out, you'll think that you were tied to the whipping post.
