What Could Possibly Be Next for the 54th annual CMA Awards?
Well, we know for sure that the Country Music Association’s Award show isn’t going anywhere soon. Nashville is the perfect spot for an award show honoring the top country players and their accomplishments. As if the usual crush of tourists clamoring around the LoDo area isn’t enough, the influx of bands and fans makes Nashville’s strip and the Bridgestone Arena the most happening spot on earth that night. So, as far as location goes, it’s safe to say Nashville’s the one, especially due to the easy access to local bars, honky tonks, nightclubs, showbars, fine dining, barbecue, and its entire smorgasbord of fun things to do, hear, watch eat and drink. And, they’re advertising that it’ll be on Wednesday, Nov. 11th, 2020 (estimated date), at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, just like we told you they would. See? We know our biz.
They’re surely not going to suddenly make it an awards show about rock. They might welcome some of that roadhouse rock or country rock or even roots rock, but songs with 3 chords and the truth will always win out.
Speaking of winners, Brad Paisley didn’t lose and the women didn’t win during the 2019 show. The CMA decided to go all in on one of their prime assets–female stars. They were all represented. The royalty, the newbies, the singers, the songwriters, the singer/songwriters, and their infinite number of smash hits and big productions. But nobody beats the CMA when it comes to big productions, as you surely witnessed last November. I mean, come on. Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, Tanya Tucker, Loretta Lynn, Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Maren Morris, Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Amanda Shires, Gretchen Wilson, Crystal Gayle, Terri Clark, Sara Evans and Martina McBride?!? I repeat?!? No mercy coming from that lineup. If you were there, you got pummeled like the rest of us by the scope, power and joy those performers brought to those in attendance.
So this far out, it’s hard to say what to expect. That’s what makes it fun. If you were there, you know what we mean. If you were not, it’s hard to explain, but we promise being there is the way to go. It might seem early now, but it’s always best to reserve your tickets now for the 2020 CMA Awards and after party passes.
