Overview

VIP Tickets to the 2027 NAACP Image Awards

The NAACP Image Awards may not be as famous as the Oscars or the Grammys (yet!), but they’re just as glamorous and even more fun. If you enjoy supporting Black artists and minorities in music and entertainment, this is the award show for you. Luckily, we have a limited selection of VIP tickets to the 58th Annual NAACP Image Awards in L.A. The award show and outrageously fun after-party are going down on Saturday, February 27nd, 2027 (estimated), so save the date and get ready for an incredible time!

Achievements in Music, Film and More at the 2027 Image Awards

Everyone knows the NAACP as one of the nation’s premier social justice organizations. With over 2,000 local chapters engaging more than 2 million grassroots activists, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is dedicated to fighting for equality and eliminating racial prejudice.

This is some serious business, yet for one night, the organization kicks back to celebrate some of the year’s most noteworthy performers of color in music, TV and films. It also recognizes the authors of outstanding podcasts and literary works, including poems, children’s books, fiction and nonfiction. Many, but not all, categories are voted on by fans. You can typically vote for your favorite nominees until mid-February!

One thing that may surprise you is that the Image Awards have been around for over 50 years. The award show was co-founded back in 1967 by Sammy Davis Jr. and other members of the NAACP’s Beverly Hills-Hollywood chapter. As the event nears its 60th anniversary, you can bet that the producers will go big with the award show and related festivities. This is the year to attend!

The Venue and Host

Just like the Oscars and the Grammys, the Image Awards have been held at multiple storied venues across the city, including the Beverly Hilton, The Hollywood Palladium, the historic Shrine Auditorium, and most recently, the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. Not surprisingly, the Image Awards have been hosted by an array of amazingly talented performers.

Previous hosts include Steve Harvey, Tyler Perry, Halle Berry and Chris Tucker. For nearly 10 years, Anthony Anderson was the face of this award show. This industry veteran may look familiar from his roles in Black-ish, Law & Order, Transformers, Me, Myself & Irene and many others. The fabulous and funny Queen Latifah hosted two editions of the Image Awards, and actor-writer-comedian Deon Cole (best known as Charlie Telphy in Black-ish and Grown-ish) entertained the crowd in 2025 and 2026. We can’t wait to see who will be emceeing in 2027!

Who Are the 2027 Image Award Nominees?

It’s too soon to say who will be in the running. We expect the NAACP to announce its 2027 Image Award nominees in mid-January. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we know who’s up for prestigious awards like Entertainer of the Year, Outstanding Album, Outstanding New Artist, and Outstanding Motion Picture. What to Expect at the NAACP Image Awards

At the Image Awards, the NAACP hands out dozens of trophies, so you can expect plenty of heartfelt acceptance speeches. The event features rolls of red carpet, incredible clothing and colorful performances from legends like Mary J. Blige. Last year was huge for Image Award nominees and winners!

Top Winners at the 2026 Image Awards

It was a big year for Sinners! The period piece set in 1930s Mississippi claimed trophies at the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards, BAFTAs and Oscars! It also set records at this year’s Image Awards, where it won 13 of its 18 nominations, an achievement only rivaled by The Color Purple. Its hardly surprising that this year’s breakout star Michael B. Jordan was named Entertainer of the Year. Sinners also won Outstanding Motion Picture, Outstanding Director, Outstanding Actor and Outstanding Supporting Actor and Actress! Whew, what a sweep that was only prevented by Cynthia Erivo winning for Wicked: For Good.

Colman Domingo received this year’s President’s Award for breaking down stereotypes and using his platform to highlight underrepresented voices, which is something we can all admire. EGOT-winner Viola Davis was selected for this year’s Chairman’s Award for her impressive performances, philanthropy and dedication to social justice. The Image Awards also celebrated Salt-N-Pepa and DJ Spinderella, the third member of the eponymous trio, with a Hall of Fame Award. Meanwhile, Taiwanese-American legal scholar, activist and Rhodes Scholarship winner, Mary Anne Franks was celebrated for her pioneering work through the Cyber Civil Rights Initiative.

Other standout winners include:

  • Outstanding Female Artist and Outstanding Album: Cardi B — “Am I The Drama?”
  • Outstanding New Artist: Monaleo — “Who Did the Body?”
  • Outstanding Male Artist: Kendrick Lamar
  • Outstanding Actor in a Comedy: Cedric the Entertainer — The Neighborhood
  • Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series: Quinta Brunson — Abbott Elementary
  • Outstanding Drama Series: Reasonable Doubt
  • Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series: Sterling K. Brown — Paradise
