Overview

Wow! The 2019 American Music Awards were all that and a bag of chips, weren’t they? How can you beat the live lineup including Selena Gomez doing 2 of her latest hits, Ciara, Lizzo, Thomas Rhett, Shawn Mendez/Camillo Cabello collaboration, Kesha, Toni Braxton, Billie Eilish, Halsey, Green Day and the Jonas Brothers. And that was before the show!! Just kidding.
After that, the reigning queen of pop music came down from her throne and accepted her Artist of the Decade award. Royalty is easy to recognize, and Taylor Swift has her regal charm, doesn’t she?
All the lady singers have their fan clubs, like the Beehive for Beyonce and the Selenators for Selena Lopez, but nobody has as big and powerful a group of backers as Tay-Tay–the one who creamed the country charts and then decided to become a pop star, which took about an hour after she decided to do it. After all the brew-haha over whether she would be allowed to perform a medley of her earlier hits, the Swifties finally convinced the right somebody, and Voila!! Tay-Tay sang a medley. And it was da bomb. The last thing I read was that with that Artist of the Decade trophy, Taylor Swift has won 24 of them, eclipsing Michael Jackson’s total. And she still has decades of her career remaining.
The AMAs have always been about popularity measured by backing figures on sales, downloads, concert attendance and general hysteria. The only way to actually measure that is with dollars. And that’s how these awards go. If you encouraged, endorsed or supported musicians, then your absentee vote would count toward their chances of winning one of the many trophies they were handing out last November. If, however, you’re like MJ, you probably won’t be outselling Taylor Swift.
So, next year’s AMAs are going to be at the Microsoft Theatre in tropical Los Angeles, which is the annual nominee for City of the Year, except the AMA doesn’t award that distinction. The estimated date for the 48th Annual American Awards is Sunday, Nov. 22nd, 2020. That can change of course, since that’s what we mean by “estimated,” but we’re pretty close either way.
Don’t miss out on a chance like this. Reserve your tickets today to the 2020 AMAs by calling us right now. Then, you can look forward to the shorter days, colder nights and the fun you’ll have at the AMA show and the after parties.
